Pastoral Care Funding Opportunities

Your commitment would help ensure pastoral education for rabbinical students of HUC Los Angeles. We are raising money for pastoral internships for students who train in settings where patient care is provided, and where chaplaincy is an important component of the overall treatment plans for patients and their families. Each semester, students are placed in:

  • Hospitals
  • Homes for the aging
  • Hospices
  • Congregations

Settings vary from the UCLA Medical Center, to the San Francisco Home for the Aging; and from congregations that specialize in work with congregants facing addiction, to hospices that provide palliative end of life care. Our pastoral internships range between $3,500 and $7,000. Internships can be named in honor of someone, on a one time basis, or given in memory of someone; and we always enjoy the opportunity the donor has of hearing from the student about his or her training experience.
